In the mid-19th century, rumors of gold transformed the western frontier. After the discovery that sparked the California Gold Rush, thousands of fortune seekers, merchants, and outlaws rushed toward the goldfields of California in hopes of striking it rich. Frontier towns appeared almost overnight.

As wealth flowed through mines and banks tensions rose between rival miners, powerful investors, lawmen, and notorious outlaw gangs seeking to control the region’s growing fortunes. With weak institutions and limited law, keeping order is a formidable challenge. In a land where fortunes can be made and lost overnight, every decision may shift the balance of power. Alliances will be tested and conflicts will erupt; the struggle for gold may determine who rules the town.
