Following the death of Emperor Commodus, unrest spread throughout the Roman Empire. In the absence of Maximus Decimus Meridius, the people of Rome find themselves in desperate need of a savior.
Lucilla, sister of the deceased emperor, has convened a council to confront the growing crises and restore order. This council, granted extraordinary authority, brings together senators, generals, and even gladiators — men whose influence over the people has grown immensely since Maximus slew the Caesar.
With the goal of saving Rome before its “strength and honour” are lost, the council will make critical decisions that shape the future of the empire.
